For years, I beat myself up, convinced I wasn’t smart enough to make it. Once I started recognizing my strengths, everything changed. Not only did I realize I was capable of more than I had ever believed, but I also saw how I could use those strengths to help others.
School always felt like a mountain I couldn’t climb. From kindergarten to college, I worked twice as hard as my classmates just to keep up, battling an undiagnosed learning disability. Reading and writing were brutal, but as a visual learner, I found my footing in science, fueled by an idealist’s dream to change the world.
In junior high, I pictured myself as a doctor—until an English teacher, Captain Killjoy, laughed it off. “Medical schools take the best, and your grades don’t cut it,” he sneered. I bought the lie and let that dream die.
College was my proving ground. I wrestled with obstacles but cracked the code on studying my way, earning degrees in biology and environmental and natural resources. Driven to make a difference, I funded school with a lot of help from my parents and a job with Union Pacific Railroad.
When my son, Jack, started school, I saw myself in his struggles. We caught his surface dyslexia before first grade—a revelation that unlocked my own past. Suddenly, decades of feeling “not good enough” had a name. Take that, Captain Killjoy.
Jack once said, “I wish I had a brain like my friend’s”—a kid who sailed through school. “No, you’re lucky to have yours,” I told him, finally believing it about myself too.
Imposter syndrome followed me into corporate success with banks, foreclosures, and investments. A very special mentor flipped the script, showing me leadership’s power to redefine what’s possible. That sparked my shift to real estate, where I thrived on solving problems and guiding people through life-changing decisions.
The real estate industry is 80% mindset, 20% action. The real fight? Fear—of failure, of rejection. I’d felt it all my life. Through coaching and personal growth, I broke those mental walls. I’ve helped lead Colorado’s top real estate team—ranked #1 in the state and top 15 globally with Keller Williams. Now, I’m back to what I love: serving clients directly and coaching agents and professionals across fields one-on-one, helping them shatter their barriers.
Jack’s journey mirrors mine. At 20, he purchased his first home and is now carving a path in finance with quiet confidence. Watching him thrive keeps me going, a daily reminder to turn our strengths into impact.
My passion for real estate is about transforming lives. I often think about the rainy night we first saw our home – a vacant foreclosure, rough and stripped bare. Peering through the windows, we saw potential. The next morning, with our son and dog in hand, we stepped into the overgrown backyard.
Jack’s tiny legs battled the knee-high grass, racing our dog, Abby. It was at that moment we knew it was ours. Years later, after updates, it’s still our family’s perfect haven. I want to guide others to that same feeling—a place to build their future.
My mission is simple: simplify real estate, bring clarity, spark hope and light the path. I believe every home bought and sold narrows the wealth gap and betters the world. I’m here to support your real estate journey—now or whenever you’re ready.
Sincerely,

Jeff Lovato
